Even though I’ve been an urban planner for years, the Matunga tour addressed the question of the dialogue between resident and city authorities, the spatial manifestation of nonspatial aspirations in window/balcony/tree/compound wall/footpath, and has taught me how to read settlements in a subtly new way.
